Sarah's Bio

I was inspired to write How to Raise Your Parents: A Teen Girl's Survival Guide when I was 16. After coming home late for curfew (again) and fighting with my parents about various forms of punishment, I realized they were as clueless as I was. (This was a major revelation for me!) The idea for the book was born. My second book, BOYOLOGY 101 is being illustrated and is coming out soon, too!

Still a teenager at heart (I love stealing my sisters’ clothes and a good door slam) I now work in book publishing. My thousands of teenage friends on MySpace keep me in the loop on all the latest teen trends and rely on me for solid advice when it comes to dealing with their parents and other life issues.

When I’m not writing or working, you can probably find me at the movies (I’m a total movie addict – especially teen flicks), riding my road bike along the Hudson river, learning to sew, trying (not very well) to cook, and perfecting the art of napping.

In between my day job and working on my next teen book (also coming out from Chronicle Books!), I patrol Manhattan's Upper West Side with my husband on our candy apple red Vespa. We have a pet canary that I’m completely obsessed with (does that make me a crazy bird person?). His name is Avey. He’s very cute and fluffy.
